Will I go to jail?

On a first offense, probably not, however some Court may give you 2 to 4 days shock jail time. On second or later offenses, it becomes more probable, but an experienced attorney may be able to keep you out.

If my DWI is reduced to a BAC, what do I gain?

Not much. In Missouri both are counted as alcohol offenses (crimes) for the rest of your life. While BAC most likely will be considered by other states the same as a DWI. However, some get confused. Nevertheless, a DWI always travels across state lines.

I had two alcohol offenses when I was younger. What will happen to my license if I have a third conviction?

Your license will be automatically revoked for five years.  In some cases you will face a ten year denial.

I have three serious DWI offenses , what will become of my license?

If convicted, it will be automatically revoked for ten years to life.

How many hours of alcohol classes will I have to take?

Plan on at least 24-48 hours for a first time offender, two days weekend program for second time or high alcohol levels on a first offense. The higher your BAC, the more hours you will have to take. The next level is a minimum of 50 hours of out patient counseling / treatment, and if they really think you have a problem a thirty to 120 day inpatient treatment program.

What will happen if I do not complete the classes, programs or public service ordered by the Court?

You will go to jail.

I lost my Missouri license. May I obtain a license in another state.

In most cases, no.

If I obtain an international driver's license, may I drive in Missouri , even though my Missouri license is revoked?

No.

Am I a bad person, because I was arrested for DWI?

No, but you are well advised never, never smell like alcohol while behind the wheel.

What if I burped within fifteen minutes of blowing?
